My story

Built. Grown. Sold.

Three companies, three exits and thirty years in Southeast Asia.

Harald Weinbrecht at a NEXEA lectern, smiling

I’m German, and Southeast Asia has been home since 1995, when SAP sent me to Singapore. Two years later I started my first company in Kuala Lumpur.

Over thirty years I’ve founded three companies, taken one to the stock exchange, sold one to its management and one to a Japanese group. I was the only non-Malaysian featured in Oon Yeoh’s book Go For Broke! Tales of Malaysian Technopreneurship.

Today I coach founders and business owners, speak at events and invest in startups across the region. Outside work I’ve completed four Ironman races and many shorter-distance races and marathons. These days my passion is pickleball.
